This privacy policy explains how we, PacificLight and its affiliates, collect, retain, use, and disclose your personal data.

JOB APPLICANTS

This Privacy Policy applies to all persons who have applied for a job position with PacificLight.

Personal data refers to any information about a person from which such person can be identified. It includes all personal data provided to us by you in your job application, curriculum vitae, and in the course of the application and interview process. Personal data we may collect includes, without limitation, your:

  • (a) Name, nationality;
  • (b) residential address, telephone numbers, email address, and other contact details;
  • (c) resume, educational qualifications, professional qualifications and certifications, and employment references;
  • (d) employment and training history;
  • (e) health issues and disabilities;
  • (f) personal background;
  • (g) photographs.

We also collect and store information on your preferences by way of cookies when you visit our website. Please refer to the section below on cookies.

You have choices regarding our collection, use, or disclosure of your personal data. By voluntarily submitting any personal data to us, you accept this Privacy Policy and expressly agree to the collection, retention, and usage of your personal data. We shall seek your consent before collecting any additional personal data and before using your personal data for a purpose which has not been notified to you (except where permitted or authorised by law).

Your personal data will be collected and used by us for the following purposes, and we may disclose your personal data to affiliates, third-party service providers, and regulators where necessary for the following purposes:

  • i. to assess and evaluate your suitability for employment in any current or prospective position within the organisation;
  • ii. to conduct checks on your past employment, education qualifications, and the institution’s accreditation status;
  • iii. to verify your identity and the accuracy of your personal details and other information provided;
  • iv. to comply with any rules, laws, regulations, codes of practice, or guidelines which may be applicable to us; and
  • v. to respond to any emergency that threatens the life, health or safety of you, or another individual.

We may collect, use, or disclose your personal data under exception from the PDPA if necessary. You shall ensure that all personal data submitted to us is complete, accurate, true, and correct. If there is a change to any personal data, including your contact information such as your home address, email address, or telephone number, please promptly update us on such change via email to [email protected].

Cookies are used to improve our website’s functionality by gathering and storing information about user preferences, which helps us to serve you better. You may disable cookies by changing the setting on your browser. However, if you disable cookies, you may not be able to access or use certain features on our website.

We shall only retain your personal data as long as there are continuing purpose(s) for doing so. Where such purposes no longer exist, we shall cease to retain your personal data by either deleting or anonymising your personal data.

We generally do not transfer your personal data overseas unless to conduct checks on your overseas employment, education qualifications, and institution accreditation status. However, if we do so, we shall obtain your consent for the transfer to be made and will take reasonable steps to ensure that your personal data continues to receive a standard of protection that is at least comparable to that provided under the PDPA.

We respect your decision to withdraw your consent at any time. However, please note that depending on the nature and extent of your request, we may not be in a position to process your job application (as the case may be). We shall, in such circumstances, notify you before completing the processing of your request. Should you decide to cancel your withdrawal of consent, please inform us in writing to [email protected].

Please note that withdrawing your consent means that we will be discharged from any obligation to protect your personal data, having destroyed the same. This consent does not affect our right to continue to collect, use and disclose personal data where such collection, use and disclosure without consent is permitted or required under applicable laws.
